In Megan’s honor the MTF will support the Carroll County community by contributing to different areas of need. Our first focus will be helping elementary and middle school aged children. We will provide them the opportunity to participate in an extra curricular activity that their family cannot meet the expense of. The foundation will work with school officials to determine the students that will qualify for our help. We may purchase a musical instrument, or pay a registration fee, or purchase equipment to play a sport. Our goal is to help kids live their passions.
Other areas of involvement for the MTF will be Community Centers, Social Services, Nursing Homes and the Humane Society. Our desire is to do charitable things that we know Megan would want to be apart of. Our drive is to keep her name out there and to do good things with it. Our hope is that we can do this for a very long time and help as many as possible

"Being able to speak at PADDD, Inc. and tell Megan's Story has been one of the most healing things that I have ever done.. It also makes me hope that if I can reach just ONE person with Megan's story then ...The pain I share is worth it"

Debbie Yohn and Laurel Stiff have worked at Shock Trauma since 1984 with an expertise in Prevention Programs. In 1992, they developed and implemented the Adult Trauma Prevention Program at Shock Trauma to provide services to offenders from a select county. Outreach grew and to date, over 5,000 adults have participated in this program. In 1997, Debbie and Laurel started PADDD, a 501c3 corporation, separate from Shock Trauma, to meet community needs. PADDD works with R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and the Charles McC. Mathias, Jr., National Study Center for Trauma & EMS. To date, referrals to PADDD have come from Anne Arundel, Carroll, Howard, Harford, Cecil, Calvert, and Baltimore Counties. |
